Language Experience with Scat the Cat

It is so much fun to watch students retell stories!  We made Scat the Cat Head bands to practice retelling this fun story!  Here is just the “chorus” of this silly story!

We used water colors to create the pictures to match the colors from the story!  This works so much better than coloring at this time of the year!  The colors blend more easily, and it works the fine muscles in the hand because we used q-tips instead of paint brushes!

Then the students made their own cat pictures using directed drawing!  The turned out so differently and were so creative even though I walked them through the process!

Once again, water colors were used to color the picture!

We used Chatterpix to make the cats talk and shared with parents on Seesaw Online Learning Journal! Check out the cool rhyme!
